Lancashire Magazine What could be better than seeing 70 of your photographs reproduced in a superb glossy magazine (as Chris Tofalos did in the January/February issue of Lancashire Magazine)? Seeing even more in a later one, that's what! In the May/June issue of this vastly improved county magazine Chris Tofalos supplied pictures for no fewer than six commissions, totalling a record-breaking 83 repros. There's everything from features on Ramsbottom and Chorley to social events and even a modern kitchen interior. It's all down to forward-seeing veteran magazine editor Anthony Skinner, who was canny enough to realise our 'Versatile Eye' slogan wasn't an idle boast. Got to say the work is highly enjoyable and here's to the July/August issue, with eight commissions undertaken so far. Can we make it a hat-trick of broken records in just four issues? Watch this space!

VIP Visit When HRH Prince Charles visited Walton High School in Nelson, photographer Chris Tofalos was on hand to record every minute. The school now has a superb sollection of photographs for its historical archives, including a couple of real winners. Have you ever seen a broader smile than the one on this young man (see picture right), as he shakes hands with the Prince? We're particularly proud of the picture underneath. The Prince might almost be asking, "You want me to shake that?!" as a particularly grubby hand reaches forward. Shake it he did - but not before the moment was caught forever. This picture was selected for the British Press Photographer's Association Yearbook for 2006: Assignments.

Back on the football scene Thanks are due to Tommy Hindley of the Herts-based sports agency ProSport. It's been five years since Chris Tofalos was involved with regular sports photography but Tommy had enough faith in Chris to ask him to cover events in the North West. It's been a great first season with coverage even extending to England International matches at Old Trafford (see picture right, as Stephen Gerrard lashes home a goal for England against Andorra). Sports photography has always been important at CTP and, thanks to Tommy, it's all systems go, again!

A New Client Guatemalan newspaper 'NuestroDiario', the sixth largest newspaper in Central & South America, commissioned CTP Photo to take pictures of soccer star DWIGHT PEZZAROSSI, when he was in negotiations with (and eventually signed for) the FA Premier League's Bolton Wanderers FC. It is clear the leading striker is Guatemala's equivalent of David Beckham, such is the thirst for pictures of him. To quote journalist José Carlos Mobil, "Dear Chris, thanks a lot. You make a lot of people happy here in Guatemala..." All part of the service, Carlos!

New Equipment Camera manufacturers Nikon and Sigma have released some spectacular new lenses and CTP Photo has taken delivery of three of them. These include an incredible 12-24mm super-wideangle zoom and the latest Nikon 24-120 VR stabilised standard zoom (gives sharper results even in low light). Sigma's 120-300/f2.8 telephoto zoom completes the package and will really come into its own with our new D-Photojournalism service, allowing candid, available-light portraits from even greater distances.
