Everton v Liverpool, Goodison Park, Liverpool.

And this is my best picture of a goal being scored in the Football League. I used a 300mm/f2.8, the sports photographer's 'standard' lens, and positioned myself close to the goalmouth. It was a risky strategy, as it easy to get too close to the action to take pictures of goals being scored. This time it paid off.
When the ball hit the back of the net I was surprised by the cheers behind me as this was the end which Everton were defending. But in the middle of the home supporters was a group of Liverpool fans. I then noticed there were other groups of Reds and Blues all around the ground, and I hadn't seen fans mixing like that for thirty years.
